My aim is to reveal both the beauty and delight experienced when enjoying a light-filled scene. With my use of colour and application of paint I seek to express the very essence of an atmosphere… be it an idyllic moment of solitude or a joyous, sun-drenched beachscape.

Dai’s subject matter ranges from days out on the fabulous beaches of his native Wales, to beautiful, intimate moments which both reveal and express his love for music. His work has sold throughout the UK and can be found in private collections in New York, North Carolina, San Francisco, France, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Slovenia, Australia and New Zealand.
Dai is also a trained opera singer and pianist. As a professional musician (known as David Vaughan-Lewis) he gives private tuition in piano, singing and music theory and regularly holds sell-out charity concerts at the nearby Craig Y Nos Castle, once home of the legendary Opera diva, Adelina Patti.
